Camp Rice Moody Gets New Pool Lift

The Danversbank Charitable Foundation awarded Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts a grant.

The Danversbank Charitable Foundation awarded Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts a grant to purchase a new pool lift for Camp Rice Moody in Reading. This lift will ensure that all girls are able to use the pool and cool off on a hot summer day.

Camp Rice Moody provides camp for more than 340 girls in grades 1-8 from June to August annually.  While at camp, girls have the opportunity to participate in a wide array of programming, including swimming.  Girl Scouts of Eastern Mass.’ goal is to continue to ensure that every girl has the equal opportunity to participate in activities, share her abilities and socialize with her peers at camp. This aligns with Girl Scouts’ founder, Juliette Gordon Low’s mission to bring the Girl Scout experience to all girls.

“As the premier leadership development program for girls, Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts is committed to providing girls with multidimensional programming, to ensure that girls not only have the opportunity to participate but to develop into self-confident young women,” explains CEO of Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts Ruth N. Bramson. “We are grateful to the Danversbank Charitable Foundation for providing the funds for the pool lift. Their gift will give all girls who attend summer camp at Camp Rice Moody a memorable experience that will last a lifetime."
