Churches to Hold Dinners and Services as Easter Approaches

6 a.m. Easter Sunrise Service on the town common hopes to appeal to those of all denominations.

North Reading's churches will hold a dawn Easter service on the common at 6 a.m., which will be open to residents and those of any denominations.

Other than that, services at North Reading churches range from simple Easter worship sessions, to dinners celebrating Passover, to remembrance performances.

Below is a list of what some of the town's churches are offering for Easter worship.

Thursday: Lord’s Supper, 7:30 p.m.

Friday: Lord’s Passion and Death, 7:30 p.m., confession to follow.

Saturday: Easter Vigil, 7:30 p.m.

Sunday: Mass held at 7, 9, 10:30 a.m. and noon. There will be no 6:30 a.m. Mass on Easter.

International Family Church

Address: 99 Concord St.

Friday: Good Friday worship and Communion, 7 p.m.

Sunday: Easter services 9 and 11 a.m.

Aldersgate United Methodist Church

Address: 235 Park St.

Thursday: Holy Thursday Last Supper service 6 p.m.

Friday: Good Friday observance at Union Congregational Church, 6 p.m. Sanctuary will also be open for private prayer from noon to 3 p.m.

Sunday: Easter service 10:30 a.m., followed by an Easter egg hunt for children after the worship period.

Trinity Evangelical Church

Address: 105 Haverhill St.

Thursday: Maundy Thursday Experience, 6:30 p.m. The church will hold a meal similar to what Christ would have eaten at the Passover

Sunday: Easter Celebration Services, 8:45 a.m.

Union Congregational Church

Address: 148 Haverhill St.

Friday: Good Friday family supper and service starting at 6 p.m. A presentation entitled "On A Hill Far Away" beginning at 7 p.m.

Sunday: Sunrise Service on the Common, 6 a.m. Services celebrating the Resurrection, 9 and 11 a.m.
