Flash Flood Watch in Effect Through Tuesday Evening

Thunderstorms in the area could produce heavy rain Tuesday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Reading that will remain in place until Tuesday evening.

Rainfall rates in the heaviest showers and storms could exceed two inches per hour. 

Showers and thunderstorms will result in pockets of heavy rainfall and the potential for localized flash flooding on Tuesday. The flash flood watch is in effect until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. 

According to the National Weather Service, residents should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flooding occur. 

The threat for heavy rainfall will wane significantly by early evening, according to the National Weather Service.

Here in Reading, there is a 100 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and some of the storms could produce heavy rain.
