Reading Library Welcomes the 'Flying Flutistas' to Town

Five things to start your day off in Reading.

1. Happening Tuesday: The Reading Community Planning and Development Commission is scheduled to meet at 7:30 p.m. in the Selectmen's Room. Among the items on the agenda is the continuance of a public hearing regarding Artis Senior Living.

2. Almost That Time: The first day of school in Reading is just one day away. Students head back to the classroom on Wednesday.

3. Partly Sunny: According to the National Weather Service, there is a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms and showers on Tuesday in Reading. Skies will be partly sunny and temperatures will settle in at about 82 degrees.

4. Flying Flutes: Reading Public Library hosts The Flying Flutistas in Concert on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the library meeting room. "What do you get when you combine the flute & the flying trapeze? Ask musicians Vanessa Breault Mulvey and Lynne Krayer-Luke as they play selections inspired by flight, by composers Rimsky-Korsakov, Pierne, Doppler and more," the description on the library website reads. "Come prepared to be inspired and amazed."
