Reading Preparing for Martin Luther King Day Celebration

The town will host a ceremony on January 20 and the topic will be "After the Dream."

Martin Luther King impacted the lives of countless Americans. And on January 20 in Reading and beyond, his memory will continue to do so.

Several Reading groups are working to plan a breakfast and speaking program on Monday, Jan. 20, which is a national holiday for Martin Luther King Day.

The Human Relations Advisory Committee, Reading Public Schools and Town of Reading are hosting the Martin Luther King Day Celebration on January 20 beginning at 9:30 a.m. with a continental breakfast at Reading Memorial High School.

Then at 10 a.m., the speaking portion of the day begins with guest speaker Jason Cross, the METCO Director of Reading Public Schools.

The topic for the speech, which will take place inside the Performing Arts Center at the high school, will be "After the Dream."
