What's Going On: Announcements You May Have Missed

Here are a few of of the community bulletins posted to Reading-North Reading Patch in the past week.

1. RMHS and NRHS Registered to Qualify for WGBH's High School Quiz Show. WGBH’s Emmy Award-winning High School Quiz Show gears up for “Super Sunday” qualifying event. 95 MA public high schools vying for chance to compete on TV MA state champion will face NHPTV’s Granite State Challenge winner.

2. . On the evening of Friday, October 19, the Reading Police Department teamed up with the Wilmington Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police’s Community Action Team to conduct a joint traffic enforcement initiative.

3. North Reading Public Works Infrastructure Projects. The Department of Public Works is starting two projects to evaluate the town’s drainage & pavement infrastructure. Residents will see contractors on all town roads over the next 6-8 weeks weather permitting. They will be using vehicles clearly marked with the company name and the contractor’s employees will be wearing reflective safety vests.

4. Bruins Assistant Coach and Alum Coach Reading Youth Hockey. Bruins' Assistant Coach Doug Houda and alum Thomas Songin practices with Reading Youth Hockey Mites Saturday. Houda and Songin coached and took photos with Reading Youth Hockey Mites 3 & 4 at the Burbank Arena. 

5. Local Photographer Wins Tops Honors at Topsfield Fair and Saugus Rotary Art Festival. Local Photographer Wins Top Honors at Topsfield Fair and Saugus Rotary Art Festival. North Reading resident, Maryellen Stone is pleased to announce first place awards in professional photography at both the Topsfield Fair and the Saugus Rotary Club Art Festival.
