How to Deal with a Recalcitrant Ebook Reader

I got my first eBook reader, and it wouldn't work, so I took it to the library to fix it.

I bought my first eBook reader last week and set it up over the weekend. Unfortunately, it would not connect to the Mother Ship over our home wireless network, and without being able to register, the device was a brick... a doorstop.... a boat anchor. I called the tech support line for the eReader company, but they could not get it working either. What to do?

Here is what I did. I took it to the Reading Public Library, where it connected just fine on their open wireless network, and it registered without a problem. Now it works.

That is our library. It is about much more than just the books on paper. You can also check out books on your eReader (after you get it working). In fact, if you have a recalcitrant ebook reader, and you can't make it behave, and you are at your wits end, our librarians can help you set it up and figure it out. They can show you how to check out books on the eReader. They know how to do all that.
