Hot Spot Name to Stay When New Owner Opens
19-year owner Ace Foulds to leave after an open house and a "Run for the Scones."
The Hot Spot’s moniker is going to stay after and she’ll leave with an open house and farewell party and a “Run for the Scones.”
The new owner will keep the Hot Spot name, Foulds told Patch Thursday, and the café will stay “pretty much what it is now.” She declined to name the new owner without speaking to the person first.

The new owner will “spruce (the place) up a little,” Foulds said, but “go for as little down time as possible.”
Even though Foulds will close her business on June 16, a Saturday, she plans to hold an open house and farewell party there a week later, on June 23. It will run, Foulds said, from “6 p.m. ‘til we run out of food.”

The night before the farewell party, Foulds, a runner, and the Hot Spot will hold a race, a 5K – that’s 3.1 miles -- a “Run for the Scones,” one of her specialties.
Just show up at 7 p.m., she said, at the Hot Spot on Haven Street. Can you fuel up on scones before the run?
Nope.
“You have to earn ‘em,” Foulds said.
