Joe Fish, North Reading to Open Monday

The seafood restaurant will open its doors Monday, Dec. 10.

The Joe Fish restaurant will open on Main Street in North Reading Monday, Dec. 10, according to the building department and an employee from Joe Fish in North Andover. The restaurant will be located in the old Piccadilly Pub.

Owners of Joe Fish in North Andover Jim Demetri and Jim Dietz pulled a demolition permit for the North Reading location back in August. The interior was gutted and renovated and the exterior was repainted and new signage installed. The restaurant will have 150 seats and 20 bar seats. The liquor license passed unanimously at a selectmen meeting in October.

If they keep the same hours as their North Andover restaurant, they will open for lunch at 11:30 a.m. and close the kitchen at 10:30 p.m. The bar will close one half hour later at 11 p.m.

The owner did not return phone calls from Reading-North Reading Patch.

Great news. It's too bad that the new Irish pub in Reading seems to be on a very slow track and Joe Fish was on a fast track. One restaurant generating business and tax revenue, the other still an empty shell.

Stopped by to try the new Joe Fish tonight, Friday, Dec.21 at 5:15; left discouraged. The place was empty and we were told there was a 40 minute wait. Agree that some tables were for reservations; but several were empty - no one was being seated, called or being paid attention to. Bad way to do business.

Went there, left there after learning lobster pie was 40 bucks. Grassfields only charges 13 bucks. Do the math. Unless they drop their prices, Joe Fish won't be there long. And the next tenant is?..........

Gotta agree. The food is good but it is much too expencive for what you get.

I haven't been there yet, but I am hearing that their prices are too high! It's not a good sign to have heard different places about the high prices. Maybe they should rethink their menu.

I go to joe fish in andover often, my husband and i went to the one in reading, we sat at the bar, when i went to sit down the bar infront of me was dirty , i had to ask the bartender to wipe it , he did a half ass job, so i took the cloth and did it again. I noticed while sitting there three people that left they never wiped the bar they just put a new setting there, it is flu season and to me that is so important. really grossed me out, it should be wiped with bleach after every patron. but the food was yummy and i thought prices were reasonable. I thought the bar tenders were very nice. i am going to go again and again. i recommend it.

I looked at the grass fields menu and the crabmeat pie was 14 there was no lobster pie on the menu. Crab meat and lobster are priced very differently. I do agree its high but market price on a lobster pie right now is around 30.
