Pamplemousse Plans for September Opening

Pamplemousse, a European inspired boutique that will sell specialty kitchen gadgets, gourmet foods, wine and more plans to open on Haven Street by September 1, according to owner Diane Manahan.

Pamplemousse will feature hand picked boutique wines, craft beer and spirits as well as wine education classes and weekly tastings, Manahan said. The store will have a coffee bar and fusti bar where shoppers can buy oils and vinegar. They will also carry pastas, sauces, seasonings, chocolate and locally made bread. If you aren’t planning to cook, pick up one of their ready to go meals, made in house.

The owners plan to start building soon, and will have a grand opening party when the store opens.

Reading residents are looking forward to the opening. Manahan said that she gets inquiries about the store every time she takes her kids to school or the YMCA.

“Our first store has been in Salem for 11 years,” Manahan said. “We have great relationships with other businesses there, so we are bringing many local products to Reading with us including Jaho Coffee, AJ King Artisan Bakers and Jean Louis Pasta.”

Their goal is to be the “one stop shop for the Reading Community for all their entertaining and gourmet needs.”

They are looking forward to working with the Olde Redding Butcher as well as their neighbors on Haven Street, Manahan told Patch.
