Sunrise Bagels Moving to Wilmington

The bagel shop plans to move in May.

Sunrise Bagels is planning to move to Wilmington in May. According to owner Larry Cutts, they are closing their North Reading location and it will not be a bagel shop when they open in Wilmington.

The new shop will be open at 355 Middlesex Ave. in Wilmington. The Wilmington Selectmen voted to approve a common victualer license for the restaurant last week.

Sunrise Bagels has been in North Reading for 22 years, and they were the only bagel shop around when they opened, Cutts said.

"We hope a lot of our existing customers will make their way over," he said.

They plan to change the menu up a bit in the new location, especially the breakfast menu, Cutts said.

"We are not going to be a bagel shop, that’s not what we are looking at," he told Patch.

The new menu is not set in stone, but they hope to add omelets and made-to-order salads among other things. They also hope to expand the soup program, he said.

They don’t have a firm date for the move, but hope to change locations before the end of May, Cutts said.

Larry & Diane We enjoyed reading the comments : but have enjoyed even more the many friends we have made over the years in North Reading and hope to see you in May at the new store beside the Registry on 62 in Wilmington. Over the 22 years we’ve watched small children of families grow up, (many of whom worked for us), go on to school, married ,and have their own children. Diane and I very much feel part of No. Reading, and fortunate to share in so many extended families.

Joe, the people who are elected by the town should be making decisions that are best for the town and the people they represent. I would bet that the majority of the people in the town would be in favor of two tax rates, especially now that NR tax rate is the highest around.......

@ Stev, I agree the people who are elected shoud be making th best decisions for the town. But many people do not understand there is only so much the Selectmen can do when it comes to a regulating private business. I do not know if the majority of people in the town would be in favor of two tax rates or not. But I will say this two tax rates would not help to keep or get new Businesses in town at all.

The last thing we want to do is drive businesses out of town. When a business closes we lose tax dollars on the personal property of the business. I have explained this before. I agree the tax rate is high in our town. But that is what happens when we keep passing overides. I am not saying we do not need the overides. What I am saying is if all the people who complain about them got out and voted against them they would not pass. I want to be perfectly clear here. I ma NOT telling people to vote against overides. What i am telling people is to get out and vote.
