What's Open/Closed in Reading on New Year's Day and Monday?
Patch takes a peek at what's open/closed on New Year's Day and the following Monday (Jan. 2) in Reading.
It seems that for New Year's Day, most salons, spas and barbers will be closed, along with all banks (aside from some morning hours), government offices, cleaners, the post office, gyms and car centers. It was touch and go which restaurants will be open, so Patch recommends calling ahead first. It appears that fast-food and chain restaurants will be open, but privately owned shops vary. Two of Reading's major liquor stores, Busa and Wine Shop will be open both days as well as Walgreens and Rite Aid and area convenience stores.
Monday, Jan. 2, not much is closing down. Government offices, gyms, the post office, Anton's Cleaners, a few restaurants here and there, and all major banks will shut down, but aside from that, most of Reading's hot spots will be open. Even the Burbank Ice Arena is staying open both days for family skates.
