Five Things: Baseball, Pajamas and Trivia

Reading baseball scores a win over Watertown. The RMHS boys baseball team scored a commanding 9-5 win over Watertown this weekend. Our sports editor Matt Tempesta was at the game and captured video of the action. Click on the image in the upper-right hand corner to see it.

The day that yesterday’s big tradition started. On this day in 1897, fifteen runners took on the first Boston Marathon. The race was shorter than it is today—24.5 miles compared to the now-standard 26.2 miles—and only ten of the competitors completed the course. Also, no women were allowed to compete. While much of that has changed today, the tradition remains.
