I’m a little dubious on this weather report. If you recall , I said that Weather Underground predicted we’d have storms yesterday. It did, and we didn’t. So, here, accept this grain of salt. Consume it, if you like, as I relay to you that Weather Underground again predicts that the town has a chance of thunderstorms again today. To be fair, the site says there’s only a 30 percent chance of precipitation. Enjoy the salt.

Meet an author. David Greenberg, author of the young adult novel “A Tugging String”—based on his own experiences growing up during the civil rights era—will tonight at the library. The talk is open to all and appropriate for students in grades 5 and up.

He may have been off by a few decimal points. On this day in 4977 B.C., according to German mathematician and astronomer Johannes Kepler, the universe was created. While Kepler gave the world many great things, including a foundation explanation for how and why planets move, this was not one of his better moments.
