Five Things to Know Today: Dec. 11

Your guide to Reading and North Reading today.

Today is Tuesday, Dec. 11. Here are five things you need to know today:

1. The weather. Today will be mostly sunny with a high near 45, tonight a low around 23.

2. Reading Board of Selectmen. The selectmen will meet at 7 p.m. at Reading Town Hall. Review/approve concept plan for Oakland Road reconstruction and follow-up on water issues are both items on the agenda.

3. North Reading Secondary School Building Committee. The SSBC will meet at North Reading High School at 5:30 p.m. Prepare for MSBA meeting on Dec. 19 is an item on the agenda.

4. Sturges Park meeting. Reading residents are invited to attend a joint meeting of the Recreation Department and Sturges Park Master Plan Committees to review draft plans and offer feedback about the redesign proposal for Sturges Park. The meeting will be at the Joshua Eaton Elementary School at 7 p.m.

5. Healthy eating while dining out. Stop by the Reading Senior Center to hear from Registered Dietitian Candace Quigley about how to stay on your healthy eating plan while dining out.
