Five Things to Know Today: Dec. 6

Your guide to Reading and North Reading today.

Today is Thursday, Dec. 6. Here are five things you need to know today:

1. The weather. Today will be mostly sunny with a high near 36, tonight a low around 23.

2. North Reading Council on Aging. The Council on Aging will meet at the Edith A. O'Leary Senior Center at 7 p.m.

3. Reading ZBA. The ZBA will meet at 7 p.m. at Reading Town Hall. A continuation of a Public Hearing on the petition of Go Green, LLC (eCars) is on the agenda. 

4. Red Cross Blood Drive. Donate blood at the American Red Cross Blood Drive at Saint Athanasius Church at 1:30 p.m. Donors receive a Free Chili's Appetizer or Dessert Coupon.

5. Reading Skating Rinks. The Reading skating rinks are set for free skating this winter. As early December 19, Castine Field and Sturges Park rinks will be open to the public and illuminated from 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. every night until the end of the winter.
