Five Things to Know Today: Jan. 22

Your guide to Reading and North Reading today.

Today is Tuesday, Jan. 22. Here are five things you need to know today:

1. The weather. Expect partly cloudy skies today with a high near 25, tonight a low around 10. There is a chance of snow flurries in the forecast. 

2. North Reading SSBC. The SSBC will meet at North Reading High School at 5:30 p.m. Contract discussions and committee appointments are both items on the agenda.

3. Reading Board of Selectmen. The selectmen will meet at the police station in the community room at 7 p.m.  

4. The U.S. Arms Trade: Inside the Headlines. Former naval officer, facilitator of the library's popular Great Discussions Series and editor of Military Assistance and Foreign Policy Craig Brandt will discuss American arms sales at the Reading Public Library at 7 p.m.

5. Toddler Tales Storytime. Bring your toddler to the Flint Memorial Library at 9:30 a.m. for storytime. Registration is requested.
