Five Things to Know Today: Jan. 30

Your guide to Reading and North Reading today.

Today is Wednesday, Jan. 30. Here are five things you need to know today:

1. The weather. Expect mostly cloudy skies today with a high near 54, tonight a low around 39. There is a chance of rain in the forecast. 

2. North Reading Capital Improvement Planning Committee. The Capital Improvement Planning Committee will meet at North Reading Town Hall at 4 p.m. A capital budget presentation by the DPW is on the agenda.

3. RCTV Acting Class. Stop by RCTV to sign up for their acting class that starts today. You will learn to write, direct, produce and star in your own television show in this 12 week course. The cost is $150.

4. Mission of Deeds Buy-A-Bed campaign. Help the Mission of Deeds by donating to their Buy-A-Bed campaign. With each $90 raised they can buy a new bed set for a person in need. Donate at local businesses in Reading and North Reading.

5. North Reading Book Discussion Club. The book discussion club will meet at the Flint Memorial Library at 10 a.m. and will be discussing The Warmth of Other Suns by Isabel Wilkerson. All are welcome.
