Five Things to Know Today: Jan. 8

Your guide to Reading and North Reading today.

Today is Tuesday, Jan. 8. Here are five things you need to know today:

1. The weather. Today will be mostly sunny with a high near 43, tonight a low around 23. 

2. Reading Board of Selectmen. The Board of Selectmen will meet at Reading Town Hall at 7 p.m. Reviewing the Fingerprint Bylaw and the liquor license for the Bunratty Tavern are both items on the agenda.

3. North Reading Secondary School Committee. The Secondary School Building Committee will meet at North Reading High School at 5:30 p.m. The superintendent's report and a subcommittee report are both items on the agenda.

4. Toddler Tales Storytime. Stop by the Flint Memorial Library for Toddler Tales Storytime at 9:30 a.m. Registration is requested.

5. Reading Public Library book group. The Reading Public Library is hosting a book group at 7 p.m. Ardella Montgomery will lead a discussion on American Primitive: Poems by Mary Oliver.
