Five Things to Know Today: Nov. 27

Your guide to Reading and North Reading today.

Today is Tuesday, Nov. 27. Here are five things you need to know today:

1. The weather. There's a slight chance of snow before 1 p.m., then a chance of rain. Little or no snow accumulation expected. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. Today will be cloudy with a high near 39, tonight a low around 25.

2. Meeting canceled. The Reading Town Forest Committee meeting scheduled for tonight at 7 p.m. has been canceled.

3. 2013 Sights of Reading Calendar for sale. Reading High School Scouts have produced the calendar and all profits from the sale of the calendar will be used to fund the scouts’ community service projects. You can purchase the calendar at Gregory's and The Hitching Post.

4. Learn to make holiday bows at the Flint Memorial Library. Tonight at 7 p.m., Colleen Perry of Brissonte will demonstrate how to create bows and also make a simple wreath. Space is limited so please register by calling 978-664-4942.  Sponsored by The Friends of the Library.

5. Computer classes for seniors. The Reading Senior Center holds free classes every Tuesday from 9-10 a.m. Learn to use email, send pictures, or use the internet to look up your ancestors, medical conditions, vacation spots, news, anything. Bring your laptop and use the free WiFi, too.
