Today is Monday, Oct. 29. Here are five things you need to know today:

1. The weather. The temperature will reach 57 degrees today and drop to 53 overnight. There is a chance we could be hit by Hurricane Sandy today and tomorrow. Check our info center for the latest information.

2. Reading and North Reading Schools. Reading and North Reading schools are closed today.

3. Oktoberfest at Horseshoe Grille (This event is postponed until Nov. 5). Stop by the Horseshoe Grille for Oktoberfest at 5 p.m. The Boosters will hold their annual Oktoberfest fundraiser from 5 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $30.00 per person for dinner, half of the cost goes to the Boosters. Guests can choose their meals from a special menu. Half the price of the ticket goes directly to the Boosters. Call first, as this may be weather pending.

4. Reading Public Library and Flint Memorial Library. The Reading Public Library will close at 6 p.m. today. The Flint Memorial Library is closed today.

5. North Reading Recreation. All North Reading Recreation programs will be cancelled today.
