Lightning Loves a Warm Lap

Lightning is waiting for you at PAWS.

My name is Lightning and I am a stunning, young cat who is more than ready to get some me time.  I don’t know why they call me Lightning, because if I am fast, it is only because I have been dashing after kittens.  Babies, babies, babies, oh my.  Mine were lovely, but I am so done with being a mother.  Now I want someone to mother me.

What do I mean by mothering me?  Well, I love to be patted.  I love to be scratched behind my ears and stroked from my neck all the way down to my tail.  I am so sleek and smooth your hand will glide right over me like, well, like lightning.  Maybe we can even make a few sparks on dry days.

When we meet, I hope you will take the time to get to know me because I can be shy at first.  But once I have scoped you out, I will come to you.  If you call, I will happily get on your lap for some snuggles. Having temporarily delayed my kittenhood for motherhood, I am just learning about the fun I can have with strings and balls and toys.  But I also love to just hangout, sunbathing in the window, watching the world go by.

Other important things to know about me include that I have absolutely amazing double paws.  I think I might even have opposable thumbs. I am also fine with other cats, and I’m sure I could get along with your current kitties, as long as I don’t have to take care of them.  Remember what I said?  I am done with mothering.  My next life is going to be all about wonderful, beautiful me.  Are you up for that?  If so, please call as soon as possible.

Oh, by the way.  I forgot to add that one of my kittens was adopted this week.  But the other one, who is named Winter, is still available.  She is eight months old and a really sweet girl.  You might want to check her out on the PAWS website so you can tell your friends about her.  You should not be looking at her for yourself, however, unless you intend to adopt us together.  She had her week in the news last week.  Now it is finally time for me, me, me!
