1. 3 Reading Liquor Sellers Penalized for Sale to Minor: Three Reading businesses that sell liquor received penalties Tuesday for selling to a minor under age 21. The Board of Selectmen imposed no-liquor sales times at The Wine Shop of Reading (Reading Fine Wines, LLC) at 676 Main St., the Wine Bunker (CW1 Ltd.) at 1 General Way and Sam’s Bistro (Bistro Concepts, Inc.) at 107 Main St.

2. Liquor License Passed for Joe Fish in North Reading: Owners of Joe Fish in North Andover Jim Demetri and Jim Dietz went before the selectmen Monday night to have their liquor license approved for the new Joe Fish restaurant that will be located in the old Piccadilly Pub space. The liquor license was approved unanimously.

3. Dirty Doodle Coming to Reading: Stoneham resident Kaitlyn Fusco is opening The Dirty Doodle, a new dog boutique and self-wash facility, at 143 Main St., Reading. Stop by for the "projected grand opening" the weekend of Saturday, Nov. 10. Instead of taking your dog to the groomer, you can bring your dog to the Dirty Doodle and use their equipment to wash and dry your pup. They will also offer organic dog foods and treats, dietary supplements, designer collars and leashes, seat belts and other products your furry friends will love.

4. 4.6 Maine Earthquake Hits Boston Area: Small tremors were felt Oct. 16 in the Greater Boston area after a 4.6 magnitude Earthquake near Lake Arrowhead, Maine. The epicenter of the quake was about 92 miles from Boston.

5. Portland Pie Co. May be Coming to Reading: A company that started as a maker of gourmet pizza pies with flavored pizza dough is considering opening a restaurant on Haven Street, its first in the Commonwealth.

Portland Pie Co., which opened in Portland, Maine, in 1997, has expanded its menu with appetizers, salads and sandwiches and full liquor service in five locations, according to its website: in Maine, in Portland, Scarborough and Westbrook and in New Hampshire, in Manchester and Nashua.
