Where to Find the Best Black Friday Deals in Reading and North Reading

Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday rule the shopping roost after Thanksgiving.

If you have a black belt in Black Friday shopping, listen up: area big-box retailers are gearing up to dazzle bargain hunters even earlier this year—starting on Thanksgiving Day!

Last week, Walmart announced that it would open its doors at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 22 and offer holiday doorbusters while supplies last. These include deals on TVs, iPads, an electric scooter for $79 and a steam mop for $39.

Not to be outdone, although not in Reading or North Reading, Target and Best Buy are also planning all-out holiday shopping assaults.

Target's deals begin at 9 p.m. According to an ad leaked online, the best deals will be for TVs, a Nook, a Nikon camera and an XBOX 360 Kinect bundle.

At Best Buy, doors open at midnight. Doorbusters include deals on TVs, phones and Samsung laptop bundles.

Walmart will offer its biggest deals from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Thanksgiving night. The store will offer three items at low prices—an iPad, a TV and a Blu-ray player. If the store runs out, you can still buy them at discounted prices but you must register for them online by midnight and have them delivered to your local store.

Shop at Aine's Boutique and get 40 percent off one full priced item. The store is open from noon to 10 p.m. on Black Friday.

At Brissonte you will get 20 percent off one regular priced item, but that cannot be combined with any other offers.

Fit Revolution will be offering a Black Friday special on its “Fit Resolution” program. If you sign up for this program anytime from now until Friday November 23 you will be eligible for $25 off. The eight week program allows you to meet with a personal trainer in a group setting two times per week. Your trainer will guide you through challenging workouts and help you to hit your fitness and health goals. You will go through initial assessments including weight, body fat analysis, measurements and various strength tests. These same tests will be done at the end of the eight weeks to analyze your new strengths and achievements.

The Fit Resolution Program will include the following:

  • Two group training sessions per week
  • Initial and Final assessments
  • Weekly nutritional guidance
  • Weekly Food Logs and weigh-ins
  • Weekly Challenges
  • Accountability
  • Cost $229

During this challenge you must be an unlimited member or attend 3 classes per week with a class card at Fit Revolution to participate in our weekly challenges. Email Michelle at michelle@fit-rev.com to sign up and take advantage of this offer.

While you are out shopping locally from Nov. 23-25, remember that it is Buy Local Weekend in Reading and North Reading. The weekend is sponsored by the Reading-North Reading Chamber of Commerce and coincides with Small Business Saturday and the Holiday Light Festivals in both towns Nov. 25. Participating businesses will donate a portion of their sales to the Chamber’s Holiday Light Fund when customers mention they are “Shopping for the Lights.”

According to TheBlackFriday.com, several other stores will also have doorbuster sales on Thursday night or at midnight on Friday, including Kohl's.

For the early morning traditionalists, some stores will open at 4 a.m. with special sales. If you want to keep up with all of the Black Friday deals, you can check your favorite retailers' Facebook pages.

Want to avoid the holiday shopping mega-crowds altogether? Look for Cyber Monday deals on Nov. 26 or visit your local mom-and-pop retailers on Small Business Saturday on Nov. 24.
