Could you please elaborate Joe? I have always found Peter and before him, his dad, as well as their longtime staff, to be very fair and honest folks to deal with. Their prices have always been in line also. Very curious as to why you are warning people about them......

I like Simms too. I have done business with them many times and have always been happy.
John July 23, 2012 at 07:18 PM
Joe, aren't you the same guy that always comes on here and condemns those bloggers who take a shot / drop a bomb and then go hide and don't back up their statements? Appears that you're not practicing what you preach. Interesting.
DAP July 23, 2012 at 09:15 PM
So your not going to explain now?
DAP July 23, 2012 at 10:40 PM
Joe, will you or will you not be addressing your earlier comments?
Barry July 23, 2012 at 11:01 PM
So, Joe hates Verizon Wireless and Joe hates Simms. Joe hates. Who cares?

Fred Van Magness 1:17 pm on Saturday, July 14, 2012 Patch is a good blog but it is currently being severely degraded by a number of the postings that are happening on this thread and others. Some people are acting like spoiled children. It is totally acceptable for people to have differences of opinions on politics and it is fair to stake out your positions and support your beliefs with facts, but the comments are way out of control. I my opinion, if you cannot be an adult and stay away from the personal attacks, I suggest you take your comments elsewhere. I for one am not interested in reading the personal trash that has been posted by a few. Clean up your acts folks, or move it elsewhere. Here you go Joe, now go ahead and deny that you were one of the parties that he was calling out, that's your style. Now can you please enlighten us all as to why you warned Patch nation about Simms Jewelers.
John July 24, 2012 at 12:14 AM
By the way that was from a Warren Q&A thread
Joe Veno July 24, 2012 at 12:51 AM
Fred, I agree with your post of July 14th but as you can see I am not the one starting the problem here.
Joe Veno July 24, 2012 at 12:52 AM
Barry, Please show me where I said I hate Simms and Verizon Wireless.
John July 24, 2012 at 01:13 AM
Joe, you asked me to point out your previous immature online behavior, so I did and you were man enough to admit to it once I proved it to you. Now instead of acknowledging that you warned us all about Sims Jewelers and not backing up your statement, you decide to blame others for your lack of credibility, you get more irrational by the day.
Peter Simms July 24, 2012 at 01:36 AM
Joe, I am a bit surprised at these posts. I have known you for over 30 years, mostly through your former position as a Reading police officer. To the best of my recollection, our relationship has only been one of business person and police officer. I don't ever remember having a cross word with you, nor do I ever remember having a business relationship with you. We have been in business for over 56 years and I take great pride in my reputation and my integrity. To comment "Be very careful at Simms Jewelers" would imply that we are a not a reputable/trustworthy business. I am greatly offended by that comment, sir. I, just as my father before me, have built our successful business on trust and fairness. I cannot allow an unsubstantiated comment to discredit my father's reputation or my own reputation. We have always been supportive of community activities, both in Reading and North Reading. I have also served as Chamber of Commerce President and as President, Reading Downtown Steering Committee. I would appreciate a phone call to clarify your post.
Joe Veno July 24, 2012 at 01:40 AM
I will call you Peter.
John July 24, 2012 at 02:08 AM
Joe, do yourself a favor and own up to your very first post and don't try to deflect the blame, for your disrespectful comment, onto myself or anyone else...you started it and I asked you to explain yourself (please see below): "John 11:06 am on Monday, July 23, 2012 Could you please elaborate Joe? I have always found Peter and before him, his dad, as well as their longtime staff, to be very fair and honest folks to deal with. Their prices have always been in line also. Very curious as to why you are warning people about them......"
Barry July 24, 2012 at 04:43 AM
What would you call making the kind of insinuations that are inherent in your first first post here? There's nothing more hateful than making veiled accusations that call into question the reputation of a business - especially when you're not even man enough to back them up with any facts. That's not only hateful, but it's cowardly.
