Spring, Hydroplaning & Your Car Insurance

Tips for preventing hydroplaning and some questions to ask your agent to make sure you have enough auto insurance coverage if you were to get into an accident from hydroplaning!

Spring showers can bring issues on the road. Fortunately, when you have great Massachusetts car insurance, you can rest assured if an accident does take place, you're covered. Some things to keep in mind in the scary situation your vehicle does hydroplane are:

  • Maintain your tires
  • Drive slower and avoid big puddles
  • If you hydroplane, remove your foot from the gas and wait to steer through the skid.
While it's great to prevent hydroplaning and to know what to do if it does happen to you and your vehicle, we all know sometimes it can't be avoided. This is where it's important to know that you have the car insurance coverage you need. Talk to your agent about different coverages that may come into play in a hydroplaning situation. Would you be covered if you hit another car? What about if you ended up off the road and hit a tree or house? The more you know the better you can feel behind the road this spring!
