23 Reading Residents to Perform in Northeast Youth Ballet's Nutcracker

Northeast Youth Ballet’s The Nutcracker is the enchanting journey of a young girl named Clara in 1835’s Germany who embarks on an adventure through a winter wonderland to a palace of sugary sweets.  Featuring the talents of more than 125 dancers who auditioned from the Greater Boston area, along with international guest artists hailing from Australia, Columbia, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and New York, the production will occur once again at the J. Everett Collins Center for the Performing Arts in Andover, MA. Exquisite dancing, beautiful costumes, lavish sets, and Tchaikovsky's brilliant score guarantee a magical holiday experience.

Northeast Youth Ballet (NYB), a non-profit ballet company since 1996, is known for producing quality ballet productions in the Boston and greater Boston area. Critics rave about NYB productions:  past praise is from news sources including The Boston GlobeThe Medford Daily Mercury, WBZ Channel 4, The Lynn Item, and other local papers and cable channels.

This year, twenty-three Reading residents, Katie Bedingfield, Emily Breen, Charlotte Burbridge, Elliana Calo, Sophia Calo, Emma Chasse, Celeste Damon-Bach, Autumn Goldy, Emma Gualtieri, Emma Kostur, Solana Maldonado, Erin Marquardt, Sophia McNamara, Kristina Miele, Isabella Munini, Anna Rich, Hannah Shapiro, Emmalynn Shmulsky, Emily Soria, Mariel Staffier, Rachel Staffier, Lindsay Yatsuhshi, and Eden Young, are privileged to share the stage with international guest artists in NYB’s Nutcracker production.  Performances will run from Thursday, December 12 through Sunday December 15, 2013.  Tickets are $26.00 for adults and $23 for children and seniors and may be obtained through northeastyouthballet.tix.com or by calling 800-595-4849 (4tix).  Groups of 20 or more and students are eligible for discounted tickets at $22.00.  For those who qualify, complimentary tickets are also available through NYB’s S.T.A.R.S. program, a community outreach program created to encourage and educate children and individuals of all ages who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend the ballet.  This group includes students, senior citizens, special needs organizations and military families from the inner city and surrounding communities.
