Austin Prep 2014 Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

Austin Prep will honor athletes from every decade of our history during the 2014 Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Saturday, April 5 at the Wyndham Andover Hotel in Andover, MA.

Daniel J. Kelly, Class of 1969
Inducted for: Football, Men’s Basketball, Baseball
Currently lives: San Diego, Calif.
Formerly lived: Reading, Mass.
Achievements at Austin Prep: Three-time letterman in football, basketball and baseball; two-time Catholic League All-Star in football and baseball. Attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst and played baseball.

Michael G. McAuliffe, Class of 1978
Inducted for: Golf
Currently lives: Andover, Mass.
Formerly lived: Bedford, Mass.
Achievements at Austin Prep: Three-time letterman in golf, and two-year
golf captain; two-time Merrimack Valley Conference All-Star; All-Scholastic in
1977; two-time MIAA North Sectional medalist. Attended Dartmouth College and played golf.

Antone Lauria, Class of 1987
Inducted for: Men’s Soccer, Indoor Track, Baseball
Currently lives: Peabody, Mass.
Formerly lived: Beverly, Mass.
Achievements at Austin Prep: Three-time Catholic Central League all-star in soccer and leading scorer for all three varsity seasons. Attended Daniel Webster College and played soccer.

Richard F. Callahan, Class of 1989 (posthumous induction)
Inducted for: Football, Men’s Basketball, Baseball
Lived in: Burlington, Mass. (His brother, Michael Callahan ’87 of North Andover, Mass., will accept the award)
Achievements at Austin Prep: Three-time letterman in football, basketball and
baseball, captain of all three sports in his senior year. Record holder for single season scoring in basketball. Attended Bentley College. He passed away in 1991.

Kimberly M. (MacElhaney) Bruff, Class of 2003
Inducted for: Women’s Ice Hockey
Currently lives: Reading, Mass.
Formerly lived: Andover, Mass.
Achievements at Austin Prep:  Four- year letter winner in ice hockey, three-time All-Scholastic, three-time Catholic Central League All-Star and two-time League MVP; multiple records holder in goal scoring. Attended the University of Maine Orono and played ice hockey.

1996 Varsity Football Team
There were 43 players on the undefeated Catholic Central Small League Champion team, which lost to Weston in the Division VI Super Bowl. There were eight League First Team All-Stars; records for: most wins in a season, fewest points allowed in a season, most team interceptions in a season.
