Sturges Park Renovation Meeting
NEIGHBORS INVITED TO IMPACT NEW STURGES PARK
Reading neighbors and residents are invited to a joint meeting of the town’s Recreation and Sturges Park Master Plan Committees to review draft plans and offer feedback about the redesign proposal for Sturges Park, one of the town’s most popular and multi-functional recreation areas. The public hearing on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 7:00 PM at the Joshua Eaton Elementary School, 365 Summer Avenue, will include a presentation of the current master plan for the well-used park at the corner of Pine Ridge Road and South Street.
The draft plan includes relocated resource areas, a woodland trail, a new playground with picnic tables, a lighted playfield, additional parking, a ½-mile walking track, a softball field with bleachers, a basketball half-court, a tennis court and a soccer field.
