Community Corner

Festival of Trees

Kick off your holiday season on December 7th and 8th by visiting Reading's 12th Annual Festival of Trees, a winter wonderland of decorated Holiday Trees donated by local families, organizations, businesses and schools that visitors can win for themselves! Sponsored by the Reading Education Foundation (REF), this signature fundraiser held at the Parker Middle School is a wonderful community holiday tradition for adults and children of all ages.

With over 70 unique trees of all shape, sizes and themes to choose from, visitors vote for the Favorite, Most Creative, Most Spectacular, Most Unusual and Best Tree Topper! In addition, children enjoy decorating their own cookie, face painting by Creative Arts, coloring and taking part in the Scavenger Hunt to earn a free raffle ticket. There is a silent auction, and entertainment throughout both days, including performances by local area choruses. Pizza, popcorn and drinks will be available for purchase.

In addition, visitors can purchase raffle tickets for the new Microsoft Surface2, with drawings held on Sunday December 8th at 5PM.

Hours: Saturday 12/7 from 12-6PM & Sunday 12/8 from 10-5PM.

Tickets: $5/individual, $10/family. Tickets are available at the door, and raffle tickets for trees can be purchased at the event.
