Quannapowitt Players Presents Texas-Sized Comedy "Sordid Lives"

Coming up at Quannapowitt

Players of Reading from March 21 – April 5 is the Texas-sized comedy "Sordid Lives,"

by Del Shores. Billed as a "clever, campy and often raunchy tale," the popular

story was also adapted into a 2000 movie and 2008 television series.

It tells the

story of the residents of a small Texas

town who are in an uproar after the elderly matriarch of the very odd Ingram

family, dies during a clandestine

meeting in a seedy motel room with her much younger, married neighbor by tripping over his wooden legs. Family secrets emerge and

hilarious chaos erupts as the colorful family prepares for what could be an

embarrassing funeral.

Performances run from March 21 to April 5 at Quannapowitt Players on 55 Hopkins Street

in Reading, Mass. Friday and Saturday evening

performances begin at 8pm and the Sunday, March 30, matinee is at 2pm. Tickets

are $18 general admission and $17 for students/seniors. For reservations, call

781-942-2212 or visit www.qptheater.com
