St. Agnes presents Seussical

The St. Agnes Church Music Ministry is pleased to announce the upcoming performance of the musical  Seussical on August 1, 2 and 3 at Parker Middle School, 45  Temple Street, Reading, MA. All performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium. The public is cordially invited to attend. The cast, crew,  and pit band of Seussical  is comprised of many very talented youths from Reading and surrounding towns who are volunteering their skills, time, and effort to make Seussical possible this summer.

Narrated by the Cat in the Hat, Seussical tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called Whos, one of whom is the Mayor’s young son JoJo, who gets in trouble for thinking too many “thinks.” Not only must Horton protect the Whos from a world of doubters and dangers, but he must also hatch an egg left to him by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird, who only wants to take a vacation. Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping, and a trial, but his neighbor, Gertrude McFuzz, never loses faith in him, proving just how important friendship, loyalty, family, and community are.

Admission is FREE. Both nonperishable food and monetary donations to help the Reading Food Pantry in Reading, Massachusetts will be gratefully accepted at each performance.
