Reading, Mass. – Horton, The Cat in the Hat, Getrude McFuzz, Jojo, Sour Kangaroo and all the Whos in Whoville will be up on stage singing and dancing in the Coolidge Middle School adaptation of the Tony Award-nominated “Suessical: The Musical.”  Directed by Lori Mandolese Loussedes and starring the students of the Coolidge Middle School Drama Club, “Suessical” is slated to perform at William E. Endslow Performing Arts Centerat Reading Memorial High School, 62 Oakland Road, Reading, MA 01867 on Friday, January 17th and Saturday, January 18th at 7:30pm; and a Sunday,January 19th matinee at 2:00pm. Tickets on sale at the Reading Memorial High School beginning January 6, 8 & 13th from 5:30 to 6:30 pm; January 14th from 7pm to 8pm; January 17 & 18 from 6pm until curtain time; January 19thfrom 1pm until curtain time.

Based on the beloved characters and stories of Dr. Seuss, this musical incorporates elements from his popular books, "Horton Hears a Who!" "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," "The Lorax," "Green Eggs and Ham," "Yertle the Turtle and Other Stories," "Horton Hatches the Egg," "I Had Trouble in Getting to Solla Sollew," "McElligot's Pool," "The One Feather Tail of Miss Gertrude McFuzz," "Hunches in Bunches," "If I Ran the Circus," "The Butter Battle Book," "Oh, the Thinks You Can Think!" "The Cat in the Hat," "The Sneetches and Other Stories," "Did I Ever Tell You How Lucky You Are?" and "Oh, the Places You'll Go!"

“Seussical: the Musical” follows the adventures of Horton, an elephant, who one day hears voices coming from a speck of dust. He soon discovers that within this tiny speck exists the smallest planet in the universe! Horton believes a person’s a person, no matter how small and vows to protect the Whos.  Meanwhile, Horton is asked to help his friend Mayzie by sitting on her egg.  He agrees to do it for one afternoon, but Mayzie never comes back! Mayhem ensues as faithful Horton tries to protect the egg and Whoville, and is eventually put on trial.
