YES YOU CAN BEAT THE WINTER BLUES $10,000 FUNDRAISING PARTY!

This will be my third consecutive year running the Boston Marathon as a member of Team Hoyt and couldn't be more thrilled to have the opportunity to run the greatest race in the world and raise money for such a worthy cause. Due to the tragic events that occurred at last year's marathon, I was unable to finish the race which in turn qualified me to receive an invitational number from the B.A.A. which means I could run on my own. My preference is to run with Rick, Dick and my team, which have become like family to me, and have a record breaking fundraising year. It really is such a honor to run with Team Hoyt and raise money that directly helps so many disabled young Americans.
This year I am holding a fundraising party to make 2014 a year to remember! Sooo, save the date, book the sitter, put on your dancing shoes and rub a buddha's belly (or whatever it is you do for good luck!) You are invited to the YES YOU CAN BEAT THE WINTER BLUES $10K PARTY!
When?  Saturday, March 1st, 7-11:00pm
Where? Wakefield Elks
What?  The party will feature live classic rock band, Nuzzy, dancing, buffet, open bar, and a live raffle for $10,000!!!
How it works?  I am selling only 300 tickets at $100 each which admits two into the party. Beginning at 7pm we will pull names of the raffle participants, until we eventually reach just ten names left in the raffle. At that point we will ask those people remaining in the raffle if they would like to split the $10K and walk away with $1K each or keep the raffle going. If we get to the final five people we will give the remaining people the choice of walking away with $2K each and so on. You DO NOT have to attend the party to win the money but when each of you purchase a ticket I will ask if you would choose to go all the way to $10K or share the money if you make it that far in the raffle. That way, if you are not present you still have a say on whether to keep the raffle going or take the money and run. And of course I will have some raffle prizes available for a few of you who do not make it until the end of the raffle. Sounds fun, right? Plus all of the proceeds goes directly to the Hoyt Foundation with the exception of 10% which I would like to donate to the One Fund in honor of those who were lost or injured on April 15th, 2013.
What can you do to help? Buy a ticket (or two!) and please spread the word. Tell your friends, neighbors, co-workers, book club, parents, in-laws, coaches, teachers, basically anyone who would enjoy a great party and the chance to win a boat load of money. Typically, this kind of party is organized by a group of people not just one person, like myself. I can use all the help I can get spreading the word sooo, forward this email, share it on Facebook, shout it from your rooftop!
It is important to know that you DO NOT have to attend the party in order to win the money! So if you live too far away or don't want to go but love supporting an awesome cause you can still purchase a ticket (or more!) and be eligible to win $10,000! A portion of your donation may be tax deductible so what do you have to lose? Please email me with any questions and if you'd like to purchase tickets you may write a check to myself or The Hoyt Foundation for $100 and drop or mail it to me at 26 Bond Street, Reading, MA  01867 and I will deliver. Tickets are on sale NOW so don't lose out! I am looking forward to celebrating Team Hoyt, the 2014 Boston Marathon and friendship with you all on March 1st, 2014! TEAM HOYT IS BOSTON STRONG!
