Last Chance: Deadlines You Need to Know This Week

Dog licenses and North Reading Parks and Recreation have deadlines coming up.

Welcome to Last Chance, a new feature that will provide a list of upcoming deadlines that you may want to know about. 

Here is a list of important dates that Reading and North Reading residents will want to know this week.

Reading

Dog license deadline

Dogs should be licensed for 2012 by March 31.

Fees are $10 for every altered male or spayed female dog and $20 for every unaltered male or unspayed female dog. Print the dog license form and take to the Town Clerk’s office or mail.

Dog owners whose pets are not licensed by March 31 are subject to a $10 fine on the first day of April and an additional $5 per month fine for each month thereafter.

Owners whose dogs are still not licensed will receive a $50 violation for keeping an unlicensed dog per Mass General Laws in addition to registration and late fees.

Nonprofits

Nominate a nonprofit organization for the 2012 Nonprofit Excellence Award. The Massachusetts Nonprofit Network (MNN) is accepting nominations until March 28. For more information and a nomination form, visit the MNN's website.

North Reading

Dog Licenses

Dog licenses are due at March 31.

Here is the 2012 Fee Schedule for Newly-Licensed Dogs:

Male unaltered- $20.00

Neutered Male- $10.00

Female unaltered- $20.00

Spayed Female- $10.00

Owner over 70- N/C

You will be charged a late fee of $10 if you submit your license on or after April 1-- for renewals only.

Parks and Recreation

Register for an adult spring floral arranging class. Make a floral arrangement for a centerpiece or gift on Thursday, April 5 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m at the . Call (978) 357-5216 to register. 

Nonprofits
