New England Revolution Give Game Jersey to Reading Resident

The local woman won the shirt off a player's back as she's been a season ticket holder since 2010.

Lisa Hamel has been a New England Revolution season ticket holder since 2010, and without a playoff appearance for the team in that timeframe there haven't been too many moments to celebrate.

But this year, the Reading resident has two reasons to be excited. The Revolution clinched a playoff berth over the weekend, and earlier this month Hamel was one of 18 season ticket holders selected to receive a game-worn jersey from a New England player.

Hamel was given the jersey of Clyde Simms when the team hosted the Columbus Crew on Fan Appreciation Night. Winning ticket holders were invited down onto the pitch after the game, and Hamel had a chance to meet Simms in person.

The Revolution host their playoff opener on Saturday at 8 p.m. against Sporting Kansas City at Gillette Stadium.
