“Sights of Reading” All Year Long

RMHS scouts produced a "Sights of Reading" calendar.

Enjoy beautiful photos of Reading hanging on your wall for all of 2013!  Scouts have produced the 2013 “Sights of Reading” calendar which hangs 11” X 17” with each month displaying an 8 ½” X 11” photo of a sight in Reading.  The calendar was produced for 2010 and 2012 and sold out both years.

"We love producing calendars that everyone can enjoy and are thrilled to have them again this year!" Kasey said.

Calendars will be debuted at the Reading Fall Street Faire on September 9 from 12-5 p.m.  The “Sights of Reading” booth will be located on Haven Street in front of the Reading Co-operative Bank, the booth sponsor.

The calendar sells for $12 or buy one for a friend and the price is 2/$20.  If you cannot visit the booth during the Street Faire, calendars will be available for purchase at Gregory’s Restaurant on Main Street and the Hitching Post on Haven Street after the Street Faire.  NEW this year, calendars can be purchased using debit and credit cards.

Girl Scout troop 73712 members Kasey and Mary Kate have accepted the challenge of earning the Girl Scout Gold Award.  The Gold Award is the highest and most distinguished award any Girl Scout can earn and is meant to help develop a scout as a leader and make a mark on the community that creates a lasting impact on the lives of others.  While working as individuals to identify an issue, investigate it, build a support team, create a plan, gather feedback, take action and educate and inspire others the scouts are working together as a pair to raise the necessary funds to carry out the projects.  Earning the Gold Award involves many dedicated hours of service and typically takes about two years to complete.  All profits from the sale of the calendar will be used to fund the scouts’ community service projects.
