Kindle Now Compatible with OverDrive

Kindle users can now download library e-books from OverDrive.

Kindle Users Now Able to Borrow E-books from OverDrive

In a recent post I wrote that Kindle users would soon be able to borrow downloadable e-books from OverDrive. Well, welcome news: soon is now.
Owners of Nooks and many other digital devices have been able to download from OverDrive for awhile. Kindle users now have access.

To get started, just visit OverDrive and look for the picture of the Kindle on the left. You can quickly download via Wi-Fi. You’ll need to input your library card number, search for a title and put it in your bookbag. When you click to download the title, you'll be taken to your Amazon account to complete the transfer.

The Merrimack Valley Library Consortium is ordering more new titles to meet the anticipated growing demand for e-books.  The  also subscribes to OverDrive Advantage, which offers titles to North Reading card holders, only. Look for the gold OverDrive Advantage icon.

Please call the Reference Department at 978-664-4942 to find out more about OverDrive. The library will also be offering an OverDrive Workshop on Tuesday, November 15 at 7 p.m.
