Firefighters Support MDA

Members of the Reading Fire Department and North Reading Fire Department came together to support a local child who has Muscular Dystrophy.    William Russell was diagnosed Centro Nuclear Myopathy, which is a very rare form of Muscular Dystrophy.  On October 7, Firefighter Scott Myette of the Reading Fire Department and Captain Morotta of the North Reading Fire Department visited William at his home.   William was given a set of Junior Firefighters gear, and was able to climb on the Fire Engine as see what it feels like to be firefighter.  Everyone in the neighborhood quickly became aware that William’s favorite part was playing with the siren and air horns.

On October 25th The Reading Firefighters Association is Hosting a Fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.    The event will be a Halloween Masquerade at the Hillview Country Club.  Tickets can be purchased at Reading Fire Headquarters or by calling the Reading Fire Department Business line 781-944-3132.
