The Week Ahead: A Blood Drive, Office Hours, and Quieting Your Mind

A look at some upcoming events in and around Reading.

Easter Sunday will come and go, and it will soon be time to look ahead for some fun activities this upcoming week.

You could be a good Samaritan and donate blood, visit Saint Agnes Catholic Church for a religious evening, or cheer on some Reading High athletes on Friday afternoon. 

Monday

    If you are feeling political stop by the library for State Rep. James Dwyer's office hours. If you can't make it, call 617-722-2220 to set up an appointment.
  •  - VFW Function Hall (428 Main St, Melrose), 1:00pm–7:00pm.
    Do a good deed and donate blood to the Red Cross. Also receive a free signature burrito coupon from Qdoba. 

Tuesday

    Head to the library to see Joseph Cornish, Senior Stewardship Manager for Historic New England, who will speak about the architectural styles from the 17th Century to the early 20th century.

Wednesday

    Professor Ernest Collamati visits to discuss "God’s presence in the suffering in our world and why bad things happen to good people." This program is free, and open to all.

    Come see David Greenberg, author of young adult novel A Tugging String, present an inspirational talk. This event is open to all and appropriate for students in grades 5 and up.

Thursday

    Join a support group for caregivers of people with memory loss. Open to anyone  living with a person who suffers from Alzheimer's and/or dementia.

    Discover why your mind gets so overwhelmed with chatter and you'll learn a 3-step process to quiet your mind.

    Join the Finance Committee on Friday and learn about the town's finances before Town Meeting.

    Get out your glove and gear up for some baseball.

    Get outdoors and watch the Rockets take to the turf against Lexington High.

    Come watch the match-up between the Rockets and the Winchester Sachems.
