Reading Fire Department Open House

The Reading Fire Department, in association with the Reading Firefighters Association, Local 1640, will hold an open house on Saturday, October 5, 2013 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.  The event will take place at the Main Street Fire Station located at 757 Main Street in Reading.  Reading residents of all ages are welcome to attend.  The open house provides residents a chance to see all of Reading’s fire and rescue vehicles and equipment.

Attendees will be able to do and see the following:

Ø  Try on firefighting gear.

Ø  See the Jaws-of Life used on a car.

Ø  Crawl through a smoke-filled room.

Ø  Learn fire safety tips.

Ø  Tour the fire station.

Ø  Sit in the fire trucks.

Ø  See live fire demonstrations.

Pizza and snacks will be served.

There is no parking available at the fire station.  Parking is available at town hall and in the downtown area.  Call 781 944-3132 for further information.
