Ambulance Called to High School, Possum Stuck in a Trash Can

A sampling of calls handled by Reading Police Department in recent days.

The following information was compiled based on reports from the Reading Police Department and Woburn Police Department. An arrest does no indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, October 1

  • At 12:32 a.m. a resident on Haven Street called with concern about their upstairs neighbor.
  • At 4:18 a.m. a woman on Carnation Circle heard noises outside of her apartment.
  • At 11:11 a.m. an ambulance was requested to Reading Memorial High School for a 30-year-old with chest pain.
  • At 11:41 a.m. a white cargo style van damaged property on Minot Street and left the area.
  • At 2:05 p.m. a possum was stuck in a Washington Street resident’s trash can.
  • At 5:11 p.m. a two-year-old fell from a cart at Market Basket and had a bump on the head.
  • At 5:16 p.m. two motor vehicles were reportedly broken into on Hopkins Street.
  • At 6:13 p.m. a complainant reported that his brother assaulted him during a domestic incident on Harnden Street.

Wednesday, Oct. 2

  • At 8:30 a.m. a resident reported that a school bus was using Summit Drive as a cut through.
  • At 9:27 a.m. a woman was on the floor and confused at a residence on Elderberry Lane.
  • At 10:11 a.m. a man fell from a ladder on Auburn Street.
  • At 10:28 a.m. a dog was reportedly left in a vehicle for 45 minutes on Archstone Circle.
  • At 3:14 p.m. a large hole was left in the street from construction on West Street and Woburn Street.
  • At 4:10 p.m. a nine-year-old boy fell from playground equipment at Killam School.
  • At 6:59 p.m. an air conditioning contractor returned to a Pondview Lane home after a dispute over money.
  • At 9:38 p.m. a call came into the station for an issue with a gas fireplace.
