Arrests Made on OUI, Assault and Battery Charges

A sampling of calls handled by Reading Police Department in recent days.

The following information was compiled based on reports from the Reading Police Department and Woburn Police Department. An arrest does no indicate a conviction.

Arrests:

Following a traffic stop for erratic operation on Salem Street, police took a female driver into custody on Thursday, Oct. 3. 

Tina M. Westphal, 43, of 41 Richardson Ave., Wakefield, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs, operating a motor vehicle negligently to endanger, and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

Also on Thursday, Oct. 3, police were called to a domestic incident where a man reported struck a female. Brendan J. Ohagan, 55, of Reading, was arrested and charged with domestic assault and battery.

Thursday, Oct. 3

  • At 11:43 a.m. a woman fell on Summer Ave. and suffered unknown injuries.
  • At 12:12 p.m. motor vehicles were lined up onto Main Street, causing a traffic issue.
  • At 4:48 p.m. a three or four car fender bender took place on Lowell Street.
  • At 6:16 p.m. a woman on Grand Street was yelling and making a scene.
  • At 7:41 p.m. police investigated a strange odor on Minot Street.
