Elderly Woman Stuck In Her Recliner; Domestic A&B Arrest; Noose Hanging from Tree

Monday, July 8 


  • At 2:20 a.m., police responded to a call about a man who was walking across school grounds/Reading Memorial High School 
  • At 5:24 a.m., police respond to a call about a suspicious man sitting on the sidewalk, Lynn Village Way 
  • At 6:05 a.m., a portion of Willow Street was closed for milling 
  • At 6:18 a.m., an ambulance responded to Main Street to a report that a man had collapsed 
  • At 9:27 a.m., police give a verbal warning for a one-way violation, Sanborn Street 
  • At 9:30 a.m., police make an arrest for an outstanding warrant. 
  • At 9:31 a.m., it is reported that fireworks left a burn mark on the hood of a car on Melendy Drive 
  • At 10:18 a.m., a resident complained that she received a scam call on her cell, Summit Drive 
  • At 10:23 a.m., a family requested that officers speak to their eight-year-old daughter, Linden Street
  • At 11 a.m., a neighbor on West Street complained that bushes were blocking the sidewalk 
  • At 11:33 a.m., police responded to a car crash on Lowell and Willow Streets 
  • At 11:59 a.m., larceny from a building was reported, 1364 Main St. Resident reported that her earrings were missing from her room. 
  • At 1:23 p.m., an employee at McDonald's reported finding a case of beer by the trash barrel
  • At 1:24 p.m., police respond to a complaint of a sinkhole forming in the rear lot of CVS
  • At 2:26 p.m., police respond to a report of a mailbox stolen over the weekend from Eastway 
  • At 3:46 p.m., the ACO was informed of a dead animal in the road, Summer Ave.
  • At 4:29 p.m., police responded to a family disturbance, Mill Street. Police arrested William B. Leduc, 9 Mill St., Reading, and charged him with intimidation of a witness, A&B, and improper storage of a firearm 
  • At 7:54 p.m., a resident on Oak Street complained that golf balls are being hit into his yard        
  • At 10:22 p.m., a resident on Harnden Street complained that a noose was hanging from a tree in the neighborhood 
  • At 8:37 p.m., the fire department and police department responded to a call to an Elderberry Lane residence, where an elderly woman was stuck in her recliner. No injuries.
