Reading police said a man driving a black BMW convertible stalked a child walking home from school on Thursday.
Police said the incident began at about 4 p.m. on Birch Meadow Drive and ended on the corner of John Carver Road and Woodland Street.
The man was described as white, in his late 50s, with gray hair and dressed in a suit. His vehicle had Massachusetts license plates, police said.
