Person Suffers 'Near-Fatal' Injuries on Route 95

State Police confirmed that at least one person suffered life-threatening injuries in the Route 95 crash.

State Police reported late Tuesday night that one person suffered "near-fatal" injuries during a crash in Reading.

According to a press release, State Police responded from their Danvers barracks at 8:50 p.m. after receiving a report of a two-car crash on Route 95 North near Route 28 in Reading.

Early indications on the two-car crash show that at least one person suffered near-fatal injuries. The Reading Fire Department responded to the scene and treated the patient, according to State Police..

According to an unconfirmed scanner report, the crash involved ejection from the vehicle and one person was transported to Lahey Clinic in Burlington in cardiac arrest.

"We have very little information at this time and will continue to update as we receive more information," police said.
