Police Log: Driver Turns Customer's Drugs Over to Police

Notable entries from the Sunday, Oct. 9 police log.

1:15 a.m. An officer responded to the IMAX at Jordan’s Furniture where a manager reported that one customer had thrown liquid on another.

1:20 a.m. An officer came upon a group of youths on the street near the intersection of Brook Street and Ash Street. The group said they were out for a walk. The officer notified the adult at the home all three were staying at of the discovery.

2:05 a.m. A Livery driver visited the police department to turn in a small amount of marijuana one of his clients had left in the back of his vehicle. Police destroyed the contraband.

2:33 a.m. An officer responded to an anonymous report of barrels placed across the roadway near the intersection of Haverhill Street and Charles Street. The officer removed 15 barrels from the road.

8:48 a.m. A passerby reported seeing a Wilmington woman screaming at the door of a Scotland Road home. Officers found that the occupant of the home was asleep and the screamer had been trying to get in contact with him.

9:06 a.m. A Woburn Street man reported that his girlfriend had struck him and left the house.

9:13 a.m. An Edgemont Avenue resident reported that someone smashed his windshield at some time overnight.

1:35 p.m. A North Reading man reported that a Reading man had been making harassing calls to Square Liquors on High Street.

1:37 p.m. The fire department assisted a woman who fell and suffered a scalp wound outside The Paper Store on Walkers Brook Drive.

6:02 p.m. An officer responded to a report of a vehicle accident involving a motorcycle near the intersection of Main Street and Short Street. An officer spoke to several motorcyclists in the area, all of whom said they were unaware of any accidents.

8:39 p.m. An officer came upon a pair of youths acting suspiciously near the intersection of Bolton Street and Ash Street. Upon questioning, the youths admitted to smashing pumpkins. One of the youth’s fathers picked both up and took them home.

9:31 p.m. A High Street resident reported that he had seen a man enter his vehicle, steal a GPS unit and flee down Middlesex Avenue.

9:38 p.m. An officer responded to a report of a man breaking into a vehicle on Riverside Drive and arrested Brian Conte, 34, of Stoneham. The officer charged Conte with two counts of attempting to commit a crime, breaking into a vehicle at night and disturbing the peace. Conte was held on $1040 bail.

10:43 p.m. An officer responded to an anonymous report of loud music coming from a home on the corner of Oak Street and Oak Ridge Road and notified the homeowner of the complaint.
