Police Log: Roadwork Damages Drivers' Tires

12:20 a.m. An officer responded to the rear of an Archstone Circle building for a report of possible drug activity. As a result of the visit, an officer charged Jason Fennelly, 25, of Burlington, with possession of a class B substance.

12:19 p.m. An officer responded to a report of a tree down in the road in Main Street. The officer found no downed tree in the area.

1:37 p.m. An officer responded to a report o a white sedan speeding down Pitman Drive. The officer was unable to locate the vehicle.

1:52 p.m. An officer notified the Massachusetts Highway Department that a Reading driver blew a tire after hitting a pot hole on Main Street.

3:06 p.m. Officers responded to the Meineke Muffler on Main Street where a customer refused to pay for his car work.

3:20 p.m. An officer responded to a report of a wire down on Grove Street. The officer moved the wire—a cable wire—to the side of the road.

4:03 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle on fire at a William Road property. The fire was soon extinguished, and the car was taken from the scene by Gray’s Towing.

4:18 p.m. A Reading resident reported that she left her pocketbook at the Fuddruckers on Walkers Brook Drive and was unable to find it when she went back.

5:12 p.m. An officer issued a citation to Gregory Duva, 30, of Somerville charging him with allowing someone to drive his unregistered, uninsured vehicle.

5:31 p.m. A Wakefield resident reported that roadwork near the P and S Convenient Store had damaged his tire.

8:27 p.m. An officer responded to a report of an older man pulling on doors at Haven Crossing at 2 Haven Street. The officer helped the man gain entry to retrieve belongings that had been locked inside.

8:40 p.m. A caller reported seeing a group of youths pull on a South Street door. An officer checked the area and found no youths.

11:38 p.m. An officer put down a deer with an injured leg found near the Church of the Nazarene on Main Street.
