Police Log: Stoneham Man Charged With Intent to Distribute Pot

12:40 a.m. Officers cleared a small crowd from in front of the Venetian Moon storefront.

1:19 a.m. Officers arrested Daniel Olivar, 31, of Stoneham near the intersection of Parker Street and Haven Street and charged him with possession or marijuana with intent to distribute it, allowing someone to drive his car while it was uninsured and unregistered. The officers also charged Emma Sampson, 18, of Reading with driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle. Olivar was later released on $140 bail.

7:35 a.m. Reading Police and Fire began preparations for the of the Addison Wesley building on Jacob Way.

7:52 a.m. Reading Fire responded to a report of a possible truck fire on exit 38 of Route 128 North.

8:55 a.m. An officer responded to a report of a man trying to enter the J&D Dance Academy on Sanborn Lane. The officer found that the man was the building manager.

10:20 a.m. A Charles Street resident reported finding an NRHS class ring from 1967.

10:53 a.m. An officer issued a citation to Daniel Olivar, 31, of Medford charging him with driving with a suspended license in an uninsured vehicle with the revoked registration.

11:38 a.m. Officers responded to a Wakefield Street home for a report of a possible cellar fire.

11:45 a.m. A Pearl Street resident reported that someone spray painted her new fence at some time overnight.

4:10 p.m. Dispatch notified the water department of a reported sewage backup in a Line Road basement.

4:11 p.m. A Reading man reported that, while driving down Summer Avenue near Woburn Street, he struck a brown caravan and took off its side mirror. He requested that a log entry be made in case the vehicle’s owner called.

4:52 p.m. The fire department responded to a report of outside burning on Howard Street.

8:23 p.m. A West Street resident reported hearing a loud bang in the area. An officer attempted to find the source of the noise, but was unable to and notified the Reading Municipal Light Department of the incident.

8:30 p.m. An officer responded to a report of a homeless man sleeping in the foyer of a Gould Street building. The officer sent the man away.

9:28 p.m. An officer reported seeing a man pushing a shopping cart down the street near the Reading Fire Department.

10:05 p.m. An officer spoke to a homeless man attempting to gain entry to the Lava Laundry on High Street. An officer told him he was not allowed to be there.

10:29 p.m. An officer responded to a report of a large group of youths gathered in a Fairchild Drive back yard. The officer found that it was a small group of youths supervised by parents.
