Police: Teens Knock Over Trash Barrels; Missing Son; Attempted B&E

Saturday, July 5

  • At 2:59 a.m., a resident on Gazebo Circle reported hearing either fireworks or gunshots in the area 
  • At 5:53 a.m., police responded to a call about a large tree branch blocking a driveway on Beacon Street 
  • At 6:41 a.m., all the lights in the square were stuck on flash mode, caused by the storm 
  • At 8:36 a.m., police responded to a call on Bolton Street, where a raccoon was in a trashcan 
  • At 9:35 a.m., a resident called and was trying to locate her son, Union Street 
  • At 2:01 p.m., a suspicious man and woman in a store were reported, Walkers Brook Drive 
  • At 2:16 p.m., a resident reports that a flag is hanging from a building and torn and falling, Reading Motorcars 
  • At 5 p.m., police responded to a report of possible attempted B&E, Main Street 
  • At 8:27 p.m., police responded to flooding on Emerson Street area - notified the DPW 
  • At 11:19 p.m., callers complained that youths gathered at Highland Ave. and Lowell Street area, and were knocking over trash barrels
